Charmaine Louise Shelton

Chairman and CEO

Charmaine Louise Shelton has been a successful and award-winning magazine advertising executive for eleven years selling advertising space to integrated marketing programs. Ms. Shelton began her career as an Account Executive at Brooklyn Bridge Magazine and quickly rose the corporate ladder at such companies as the McGraw-Hill Companies, Black Enterprise Magazine, Scholastic, Inc., and most recently as an Advertising and Marketing Consultant.

While recuperating from a fall and lounging around her home in a leg cast, Ms. Shelton yearned to dump the androgynous sweatpants and to express her sexiness and femininity. To occupy her time, Ms. Shelton taught herself the art of crochet, loving the beauty and intricacy that allowed her to create the perfect solution, sumptuous loungewear that also transitions to stylish ready-to-wear. Drawing from her experience as an advertising and marketing executive, Ms. Shelton as Chairman and CEO founded her company CharmaineLouise New York, Inc., a luxury hand-crochet atelier. The CharmaineLouise Fall/Winter Collection debuted in 2005.

Upon her graduation cum laude from Spelman College, Ms. Shelton returned to her native New York City where she is active in her community as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the New York Junior League, and as a Board Member for the Women's Alliance of Harlem.
